Week 10 of the 2024 NFL regular season will wrap up on Monday evening, with the Los Angeles Rams taking on the Miami Dolphins, but most of the league is already two and a half months into the year.
At this point, two head coaches have been fired. The Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh and the Saints fired head coach Dennis Allen. Neither move has worked out incredibly well for either team - though the Saints did win their first game post-firing - but both were probably necessary. More firings could be coming, too.
After Week 10, three more NFL head coaches are deserving of being fired. Here's the list.
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy
The Cowboys dropped to 3-6 on the season with Sunday afternoon's blowout loss to the Eagles. Dallas was playing without quarterback Dak Prescott, who's set to undergo season-ending surgery on his torn hamstring, but the Cowboys have been getting blown out at home, healthy or not, all season long.
McCarthy has been unable to rally the troops, no matter what's been happening. He seems to have lost the locker room. It's time for a change in Dallas.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll
The New York Giants lost in Munich, Germany on Sunday morning. New York fell to Carolina, 20-17, in overtime. The Giants are now 2-8 on the season.
New York probably needs to bench starting quarterback Daniel Jones, but that's not the only move that should be made.
The Giants need to put an end to the Brian Daboll era, too.
Jaguars coach Doug Pederson
Pederson, who won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, seems to be running on fumes with the Jaguars.
Jacksonville lost to Minnesota, 12-7, on Sunday. The Jaguars are now 2-7 on the season. Trevor Lawrence might be out for the year. It's a disaster in Duvall.
The Jaguars will probably wait to fire Pederson until after the year, but there's no need. Just do it now.
