Ashlee Simpson played coy while responding to questions surrounding her sister Jessica's marriage to Eric Johnson.
The "Pieces of Me" singer, 40, and her husband, Evan Ross, were spotted heading to Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Monday when TMZ reporters asked her about speculation that Jessica and Johnson are heading for divorce.
"Do you know anything about it? Is that true?" the reporter asked Ashlee, to which she bluntly replied, "No."
It's unclear if she was confirming that the breakup speculation was untrue or that she didn't know anything about the rumors.
Ashlee's blunt comment about her sister's relationship with the former football player came shortly after Jessica posted a cryptic Instagram message that seemingly hinted at marriage woes.
"Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic," Jessica wrote alongside a series of sensual photos of herself on Monday, Nov. 11.
She added, "This comeback is personal, it's an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve ๐ถ ๐ผ ๐ค๐ค."
Several fans flooded the comments section of the post with claims that the pop star was hinting at being single.
However; other supporters suggested that Jessica was just announcing her "comeback" with new music.
The "Irresistible" singer sparked divorce rumors in February after she posted several photos to Instagram in which she wasn't wearing her wedding ring.
But the couple momentarily put the gossip to rest when they stepped out for a romantic Valentine's Day date at Ivy At The Shore in Santa Monica, Calif., on Feb. 14.
Six months prior, Jessica gushed over her husband while celebrating his 44th birthday in September 2023.
"Eric turned 44 on Sept 15 and his family gave him all the love cells we have to celebrate his life," she wrote on Instagram at the time, adding, "My heart is so taken with this Man, I could hardly call it my own....We love youuuu (he ain't an Instagram guy, but I always think the more good wishes the better ๐)."
Jessica and the retired NFL tight end, 45, have been married since 2014 and share three kids: Maxwell Drew, 12, Ace Knute, 11, and Birdie Mae, 5.
