About Mira Bella: 400 multi-million dollar homes proposed for Middle Tennessee community

Plans have been submitted for a mixed use community that would include about 400 custom-made multi-million dollar homes on several hundred acres just west of State Route 109 in Wilson County.

Mira Bella is the name of the proposed community that would be located between Lebanon Road, Beckwith Road and Bass Lane between the downtown areas of Mt. Juliet and Lebanon. Kyle Allen, the owner and developer of Mira Bella Inc., is trying to annex the property into Mt. Juliet.

Plans show 434 home lots, but Allen expects to develop about 400 of them, he said, noting that prices could range from $1 million to around $5 million.

And all the homes would be contained in a private, gated community if the development is approved, Allen said.

"An executive community," Allen said, describing the Mira Bella outlook. "To me, looking at the eastern side of Nashville, something of this magnitude - there is there is not a development like this."

Plan details are still being worked through and elements could change. Mira Bella was targeted to be on the Nov. 21 planning commission agenda, but Allen now said he expects to start the approval process in January.

The project's plans require a rezoning and a land use amendment approval should the development be annexed into Mt. Juliet, city officials said. The Mira Bella plan will ultimately need city commission approval.

Proximity to Nashville International Airport, Percy Priest and Old Hickory Lakes are among the reasons Allen says he has moved forward with Mira Bella in Wilson County.

A promotional video also shows that a restaurant, boutique, amphitheater and convenience market are part of the Mira Bella plan as they now stand. The commercial portion of the planned unit development is closer to Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet City Planner Jon Baughman said.

Walking trails, ponds and fountains are also shown with a substantial portion of the land to remain as open space, Allen said.

He described plans to use stone, stucco, wood and other materials for an earth-tone and European type feel.

If approvals are gained from Mt. Juliet, Allen would like to start work on putting in roads within the community this summer.

Mt. Juliet Mayor James Maness has "seen proposals for the property in the past," but was still reviewing the Mira Bella proposal.

Road and infrastructure improvements that Mt. Juliet could recommend as conditions for the development's approval were still being evaluated at deadline for this story, city Traffic Engineer Todd Serbent said.
