Season 5 of "9-1-1: Lone Star" came to an end on Feb. 3, 2025, but will there be a season 6 of the Fox procedural drama?
Fox confirmed in September 2024 that 9-1-1: Lone Star's fifth season would be its last, so no, there will not be a season 6.
Given today's television landscape, there's always a chance that another network or streaming platform could revive the show -- like NBC did with "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and Netflix did with "Girls5Eva" -- but so far, there's been no confirmation of that.
"9-1-1: Lone Star" co-executive producer and showrunner Rashad Raisani told TV Insider earlier this month that he thinks another installment is unlikely at this point.
"My heart says, 'Please, God, yes, please, please, please.' And my brain says, 'Probably not,'" Raisani said. "I would love it, but when a show is still doing well and is regularly number one on Hulu after it airs and it doesn't seem to matter, whatever these hard prices are and whatever these corporate decisions are, it just seems difficult. That's my impression. I hope I'm wrong."
"9-1-1: Lone Star" first premiered in 2020. It centered on New York City firefighter Owen Strand (Rob Lowe), who relocates to Austin, Texas, with his son Tyler, a.k.a. TK (Ronen Rubinstein).
Lowe said during an interview with People earlier this month that he's not ruling out reprising his role as Owen.
"Listen, I never say never to anything, and it's a character that means a lot to me," he told the outlet. "I have such respect and admiration for first responders, and it's an honor whenever I can bring their stories to the screen, so you never know."
Warning: spoilers ahead for the season 5 finale of "9-1-1: Lone Star"
Lowe's "9-1-1: Lone Star" character nearly died during the season 5 finale after an asteroid strike created the potential for a nuclear meltdown at a nearby university facility. However, Owen came through the crisis alive before moving back to New York City and resuming his firefighting career there.
