Husband Speaks Out After Wife Left Home Without Phone or Car, Says He Woke Up and She Was Gone

Melonie Ballenger was last seen at her residence around 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, police confirm to PEOPLE

The husband of a missing 46-year-old woman, who left their Texas home without her phone or car, is speaking out as search efforts continue.

Melonie Ballenger's husband Daniel reported Melonie missing around 6:35 a.m. local time on Monday, Nov. 4, the Wylie Police Department previously said in a Facebook post.

Daniel told CBS affiliate KTVT that he and Melonie went to sleep on Sunday, Nov. 3, but that when he woke up that morning she was gone. "She left with nothing," he said.

When contacted by PEOPLE on Thursday, Nov. 7, police said they could confirm she was last seen at her residence around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Speaking with ABC affiliate WFAA, Daniel said that both he and their daughters tried to find her, but when they couldn't, he called police.

Police previously reported that Melonie left home without her phone or car, but Daniel told the outlet she also left without her wallet, money or necessary medication.

According to her husband, she was scheduled to have heart surgery, while family members told the outlet she stayed home on Sunday because she felt sick.

KTVT reported that authorities have already searched wooded areas, ponds and neighborhoods near the family's home, but have yet to find her.

On Thursday, Nov. 7, Sgt. Donald English told PEOPLE that the Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue (CLEAR) Alert and are "still searching various locations and following up on tips."

Police said in an update on Thursday, Nov. 7, that authorities are "asking residents to review their surveillance video for any sightings of Melonie."

"Wylie Police would like to thank the community for the outpouring of support as we search for Melonie," the department added. "There have been many requests to assist in the search, but we are not requesting any assistance at this time."

As search efforts continue, Daniel said he wanted his wife to know that her family just wants her home.

"I love her. I hope she's safe," he told WFAA. "Her daughters [are] missing her and we just want her back. Please come home."
