A man who fatally struck a bicyclist with his car in Holmdel this summer was accused of operating the vehicle with a suspended license, officials announced Thursday.
The bicyclist, Timothy Neher, 65, of Holmdel, was hit the morning of Aug. 12. Officers were called to the area of Bethany Road and Galway Drive to investigate at 7:35 a.m., according to a release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
Neher was found in the road and was rushed to Bayshore Medical Center where he died at 8:41 a.m., the office said.
It was determined that the 28-year-old Manalapan man who hit him was driving with a suspended license at the time. He was charged with third-degree operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license while being involved in a fatal crash, authorities said.
No other details about the crash were released by investigators.
