5 takeaways from the Bills' 23-20 win over the Jets

The Buffalo Bills (4-2) faced another prime-time football matchup on "Monday Night Football" in Week 6. The team traveled to face the New York Jets (2-4) at MetLife Stadium.

There were of off-field headlines going on with both teams... namely the Jets. Even so, the Bills escaped with a win.

With that, here are five takeaways from the Bills' win over the Jets:

The Bills did not have James Cook (toe) at running back due to injury. Even so, third-round rooke Ray Davis stepped up and played the part. Davis shined on the ground, rushing for 97 yards on 20 carries. He also featured in the passing game, leading Buffalo with 55 receiving yards on three catches.

Davis might need to get more involved.

Between both teams, four kicks were missed. Relating to both the scoreboard and the momentum, that changes a game.

The Bills cannot have mistakes late like this.

While the win was still grabbed by Buffalo, New York scored on a "Hail Mary" pass at the end of the first half. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a knack for those, and kudos for the Bills for not letting it bite them... but come on.

Along with that, it was an ugly game. Head coach Sean McDermott needs to get the flags sorted out. Both teams took 11 penalties. The Bills lost 94 yards on them.

Regardless of it all, the Bills entered this one on a two-game losing streak. That allowed the Jets to be in striking distance of the top spot in the AFC East. Not so fast, though. That's still Buffalo's place.
