DICKINSON, N.D. (KXNET) -- A 56-year-old Dickinson man was killed after an officer-involved shooting on the evening of Friday, October 25th.
According to the Dickinson Police Department, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 Block of 10th Street East for a report of a disturbance. Upon entering the home, officers encountered the man, who had armed himself with a handgun.
Both the man and a Dickinson officer discharged their weapons. The man sustained injuries in the shooting and was transported to CHI St. Alexius Hospital, where he was declared deceased. The officer was not struck or injured.
The ND Bureau of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation into this incident. The officer in question has been placed on administrative leave.
