A young Plattsburgh State women's soccer crew of 14 underclassmen still has a shot at making the SUNYAC conference playoffs. That's all thanks to the Cardinals grabbing their third conference win of the season against the Potsdam State Bears in a 3-0 shutout win. Kelly Licata scored the game's first two goals, while Allison Brown added the third score. All three of those goals came in the first half. Lauren Haley also secured her 4th shutout with five saves in net. Plattsburgh now sits in 7th place with a 3-4-1 record at 10 pts in the SUNYAC standings, one spot away from the top six teams that make the conference playoffs. Fredonia State sits ahead of Plattsburgh in 6th with a 4-4-0 record for 12 points. If Plattsburgh wins against SUNY Canton on Saturday, Oct. 26, and Fredonia loses against SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, Oct. 26, Plattsburgh will secure the No. 6 seed. If Plattsburgh loses or ties, they are out. If Plattsburgh wins and Fredonia ties with Oneonta, the Cardinals would need to outscore Fredonia by at least six goals in point differential to secure the No. 6 seed.
