Don't expect the voice of the Masters to leave anytime soon.
CBS broadcasting legend Jim Nantz will call his 40th Masters next month, and during a recent interview with "Bunkered," he indicated he plans to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.
"If all the stars aligned, right now, it feels like a pretty good exit point. April 14, 2036. That is my scheduled retirement date," Nantz said.
Mark your calendars, golf fans.
The 2036 Masters will be a special one since it will mark the 100th anniversary of the iconic major and mark 50 years since Nantz uttered his trademark "Hello, friends" at Augusta National for the first time in 1986.

Nantz, 65, has been perhaps CBS' most iconic sports voice over the past few decades. He continues to serve as the lead play-by-play voice for the network's NFL coverage, working alongside Tony Romo.
In 2023, Nantz retired from calling college basketball's Final Four. But for now, retiring from calling golf isn't imminent and he's set a goal to keep going for at least another decade.
"A lot of things have to happen for that to occur," Nantz said. "First off, my health would have to hold up. Secondly, CBS and Augusta National would have to want me to come back..." It would be a perfect place to walk out - but I know what's going to happen. I'm going to get to that year, and I'm going to say, 'You know, maybe I could do this for a while longer.'
"We have broadcasters over here that have gone on well into their 80s, so that's one of those 'wait and sees', I guess."
ESPN and CBS will broadcast the 2025 Masters, which will take place April 10-13.
