Thor: The Asgardian Chronicles, Chapter 236- War of the Gods, Part 7: The Battle of Vengeance
It seemed that there was no end to this battle. The Warriors of Tyr have thus returned to attack King Frey's men. And only that, they also came for Freya, the Goddess of War and Fertility.
The battle was so intense that it was not to be cherished or unforgettable. Freya had known quite a while that these formidable warriors would not give up that easily, even after their loss of the previous battle. And so, she hacked them off with her large sword, and slashed away in cold blood.
The battlecry came forth, "FOR TYR! FOR VANAHEIM!" Again the sound of it made Freya very angry, and that she wanted to make an end of it.
Frey's men managed to kill a few of these deadly warriors, whom some held axes, spears, and swords. There were also riders to be dealt with, and one of Frey's men slashed him on the back, whilst that rider killed every Frey's man on sight.
Freya came to the rescue to the last of Frey's men, who were thus surrounded by the fifty Warriors of Tyr.
Fifty may sound too small for Freya's own taste of battle. But if she planned to best them all alone, then she would have to muster her own strength to do so. Three hundred men meant nothing to her. And fifty may not sound much different at all. But who knew that these deadly warriors would eventually best them and her. And this, Freya would not allow it to happen.
The Warriors of Tyr came at them, and Frey's men shouted their own battlecry for the very first time.
"FOR FREY! FOR VANAHEIM!"
Thus, Freya and Frey's men fought the rest of the Warriors of Tyr.

Back at the Fortress of Frey, Balder the Brave stood on the battlements, alone. He oft wondered how his aunt had fared in battle. And there was no telling what would happen if the Warriors of Tyr had actually won.
No, Balder thought hopefully. I am sure that Aunt Freya shall win. Aye, he had known about this, ever since he had lived in Vanaheim for such a long time.
Thor appeared behind him, and said, "Hey..."
Balder turned towards him. "Why Thor, you cannot sleep?"
"I was just about to say the same thing to you, dear brother." Then he looked beyond the hills of Vanaheim.
After a moment of silence, Balder said, "I am sorry to hear about... Loki."
Thor looked at him, and wondered how long his half-brother had known about the God of Mischief. Of course, he must have been notified by Hermod himself, no doubt.
"Aye," Thor said. And that was it. There was nothing left to be said about him, for Loki had indeed caused all sorts of mischief, especially whilst Balder was gone. Thor could not begin to wonder what really happened to him, and though had a good reason, he felt that it was his own fault to begin with.
Balder knew that look oft enough that he had seen one before, and thus remembered the time that he, Loki and Thor had went out on a quest to search for the Firestone.
Then somewhere beyond the hills of Vanaheim, a horn was blown out. Every soldier stood up to see what was taken place. Even the sound had woken Erik Masters, Lady Sif and King Frey himself.
"That was the battle horn", Erik said, after a moment of silence.
Sif nodded. "Aye, that was. But whose was it?"
King Frey wondered about it, for he knew that his men and Freya must still be in battle with the Warriors of Tyr.
Thor said, "Perhaps I can fly over there and see what has happened."
Erik said, "I'm coming with you, Thor."
The God of Thunder looked at the man of many talents, and then nodded.
King Frey did not say anything to this, for he watched Thor flew off in the sky with his Mjolnir, whilst Erik transformed himself into the Mighty Thunderstrike!
The old king thought, Ah, the Thunderstrike. So the tales are true.
And so both Thor and Erik Masters ventured out into the open air, together.

The battle informer named Kildeg was riding in the hills of Vanaheim. At first, he thought he would encounter the remaining Warriors of Tyr, along the way. But bad luck would have it, when he had learnt thus from the sound of a battle horn.
He stopped and wondered what just happened. And then he realized that it was the horn of the enemy, which most likely meant that Tyr's men had lost another battle.
Damn them to Hel, Kildeg thought. But before going out to report this unwanted failure to Lord Agnar, Kildeg would have to see for himself that it was indeed the truth. Or else, he would be considered as a fraud, which King Tyr could not even tolerate.
He rode his horse straight ahead. Out of nowhere, a heavy storm came in, and that Kildeg could feel a little bit downpour on him.
But something moved quickly in the black sky, and this Kildeg stopped riding again, and looked up to watch two flying figures. Even in this flash of lightning, he could not recognize them.
Kildeg went quietly ahead, and whoever these flying figures were, surely he must find out soon enough, for whether it was do or die.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lord Agnar woke up from the sound of the battle horn. It was so loud that it could even travel at a far distance in Vanaheim.
Most of his men were still asleep, and some woke to find out that it may have been their horn. But that was not the case, for their enemy had won. And this would make Lord Agnar wondered if it were indeed true.
King Tyr shall not like this, Lord Agnar thought. He hoped that Kildeg would thus return like always, and if not, he would either be captured or killed by King Frey's men.
To be continued in Thor: The Asgardian Chronicles, Chapter 237- War of the Gods, Part 8: Hermod the Swift.
It would seem that the second battle with the Warriors of Tyr is over. Next, Hermod finally escapes from the dark cell, with his restored speed. Find out in the next chapter of Thor. FOR ASGARD!
