A record dry spell was finally broken for locations in New Jersey when rain fell on Sunday night, November 10, the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed.
The NWS's regional office in Mount Holly recorded "widespread" rainfall amounts between 0.1 and 0.5 inches across parts of New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
The weather service said the rain would "not have any meaningful impact on the drought, although it should help to suppress the extreme fire danger for a couple days."
