Rajkummar Rao Says He Still Pays EMI For His House; Can't Afford To Buy A Rs 6 Crore Car

Rajkummar Rao may have made headlines for delivering Bollywood's only ₹600 crore blockbuster with Stree 2, but the actor insists that his bank account isn't as loaded as people might think. In a candid conversation on the YouTube show Unfiltered with Samdish, Rajkummar opened up about his financial situation, revealing that he still deals with things like EMIs and that his wealth isn't quite what fans assume.

"Honestly, I don't have as much money as people might think -- like ₹100 crore. It's not that much," Rajkummar admitted during the interview. He explained that while he does own a house, he's paying a hefty EMI for it. "It's not like I can just walk into a showroom and say, 'How much for that car? ₹6 crore? I'll take it.' I'm not there yet."

When host Samdish asked if he could at least afford a car worth ₹50 lakh, Rajkummar laughed and responded, "₹50 lakh, yeah, I could buy it, but I'd need to think about it for a second -- there'd be a discussion. But a ₹20 lakh car? I could comfortably buy that right now."

The Stree star also touched on the dangers of receiving too much money too quickly in the film industry, noting that it can mess with an actor's psyche. "When actors get too much money overnight, it doesn't feel right. It can really affect how they think and operate," he added.

After Stree 2, Rajkummar's latest venture is Raaj Shaandilyaa's sex comedy Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, where he stars opposite Triptii Dimri in a quirky story about a stolen honeymoon tape. The film, also featuring Vijay Raaz and Mallika Sherawat, is produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series.

Up next, Rajkummar will venture into the action genre for the first time in Malik, an action thriller directed by Pulkit. This marks his debut as a full-fledged action star, further expanding his versatile career in Bollywood.

While the public might assume that Rajkummar Rao's success has led him to a life of luxury, the actor's grounded perspective proves that even in Bollywood's glittering world, some stars are keeping things real.
