St. Clair Software has issued Default Folder X 6.1.1, a maintenance update with a grab bag of improvements for the Open/Save dialog utility. The update modifies the behavior of Quick Search so pressing its keyboard shortcut a second time hides the Quick Search window, makes sequential character matches more important, and reduces the CPU load for icon rendering in the Quick Search window. Version 6.1.1 also fixes a bug that caused Default Folder X to replace the Format menu in Save dialogs with its path menu, corrects a problem that made toolbar buttons return to their default locations after being manually moved, works around a bug in macOS 15 Sequoia that blocks the ability to track some user interface objects, and ensures the Information panel correctly shows the labels assigned to files stored in iCloud.
