Philadelphia 76ers Linked With Move For Golden State Warriors Forward

It has been a contrasting start to the season for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors, and pretty much the opposite of what had been expected of the two teams.

The Sixers, who are being considered Championship contenders, have lost both their games so far. Joel Embiid and Paul George are yet to get on the court this season.

On the other hand, the Warriors did not have too many expectations surrounding them coming into the 2024-25 NBA season. But they have enjoyed blowout wins in both of their games so far.

One Warriors star who has not enjoyed the best start to the season though is Jonathan Kuminga. He had a very good 2023-24 campaign and is viewed as someone with All-Star level potential if he can take another leap.

But the Warriors and Kuminga did not reach a contract extension agreement prior to Monday's deadline. He will enter restricted free agency after this season.

While talking about potential suitors for Kuminga, Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer named the 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets.

Regarding the 76ers, Fischer said: "The Sixers have definitely indicated around the league and behind the scenes that they are willing to pay and add in another piece right now. They are willing to spend their draft capital."

The 76ers are fully in win-now mode after bringing in George over the summer on a four-year, $212 million deal alongside players like Andre Drummond, Caleb Martin and more.

Considering their aim, as well as the fitness history of Embiid and George, it is not hard to understand why the Sixers might be looking to add another piece.

Most people expect KJ Martin to be involved in a trade of some sort after he signed a two-year, $16 million contract with the 76ers. Will we see Kuminga turn out for the Sixers in the future? Time shall tell.
