After losing No. 1 NFL draft pick to Giants, Raiders coach has four-word message to fans

After losing No. 1 NFL draft pick to Giants, Raiders coach has four-word message to fans

After beating the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders surrender their No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft.

The Raiders are now 3-12, while the Giants are 2-13 -- the NFL's only two-win team.

If the Giants lose out, they will have the No. 1 pick for the third time ever. (They also had it in 1951 and 1965.) That would let them draft their preferred next quarterback -- whether that's Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward or (much less likely) someone else.

After Sunday's 19-14 win over Jacksonville, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce was asked to address fans who may be upset that the team likely gave up the top pick in the 2025 draft.

"Talk to [general manager] Tom Telesco," he said, via Vegas Sports Today.

The Giants suffered their 10th straight loss for the first time in their 100-season franchise history in Atlanta on Sunday in the 34-7 beatdown by the Falcons.
