Bloomington woman sentenced to probation, ordered to pay $21K for wire fraud

BLOOMINGTON -- A Bloomington woman has been sentenced to 24 of months of probation after pleading guilty to wire fraud.

Justice J. Watkins, 27, appeared in court Wednesday morning before Judge Jason Chambers. In response to her guilty plea, Assistant State's Attorney David Rossi dismissed her remaining two theft charges, a Class 1 and Class 2 felony.

In addition to her probation sentence, Watkins was ordered to pay nearly $21,000 in restitution for cashing fraudulent Paycheck Protection Program loans between April 13 and Sept. 15, 2021.

Her attorney, John Bussan, was not available for comment.
