Opera One R2 is Now Available

Opera today announced the immediate availability of Opera One R2 for Windows, Mac, and Linux with new AI-powered features. And yes, there's a native version for Windows 11 on Arm.

"The browser of the future will be vastly different from the one we use today," Opera product director Joanna Czajka says. "Opera One R2 is our first step towards the future of browsing. As the ultimate browser nerds, we're happy to be shipping our best-looking browser with the most comprehensive AI features today."

Opera began testing Opera One R2 in January. This major release introduces dynamic themes, Split Screen and Tab Traces features for multitaskers, detachable music and video controls that work with video calls, and several new AI-powered features that the firm previously tested via its Opera Developer channel. There's a command line interface for Opera's Aria AI chatbot (type Ctrl + /, and then Tab for page context) and generative image creation and understanding, for example.

Opera has offered integrated ad and tracker blocking for years, and the company confirmed earlier this month that it will continue supporting Manifest V2 browser extensions past Google's attempts to kill it off and replace it with Manifest V3.
