21+ programming includes Banned Book Bash, Black Women Writers Showcase
Back for its 13th year, Lit Crawl - the Texas Book Festival's adults-only Saturday night celebration - returns, and you won't have to crawl far: For the first time, this book "club" will be housed under one roof, across various stages at Speakeasy Austin.
Kicking off after a full day at the festival, Lit Crawl festivities include: "Worded Funny," a literary humor show featuring Wendi Aarons, Athena Aktipis, Meg Walsh, and more; a trivia game show; Torch Showcase: Celebrating Black Women Writers (hosted by Poet Laureate of Texas Amanda Johnston); the always-lively Literary Death Match; and Librotraficantes' Banned Book Bash, cheering on "contraband prose from books that have been formerly banned, currently banned, or are so freakin' good they are bound to be banned in the future."
