Norfolk County Sheriff Patrick W. McDermott announces that Boston legend Steve Sweeney will headline a Sober Comedy Night, presented by the H.O.P.E. Center, along with local comedians Shea Spillane, Jack Lynch and other special guests.

The show will take place inside the heated pavilion at the Braintree Public Safety Complex on Thursday, Nov. 21st from 7 to 9: p.m., next to the H.O.P.E Center, a program of the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office.

Tickets are on sale now. The cost is $30 per ticket, and seating is limited.

The H.O.P.E. Center aims to provide healing, opportunity, purpose, and engagement for justice involved individuals recently released from custody. The H.O.P.E Center team works with clients to create personalized plans for success and provides the support needed to reach their goals through peer support, education and job resources.

"We could all use a good laugh on any given day," said Sheriff McDermott. "This is an exciting way to connect with the Norfolk County community about our mission to help those in need of a support, while highlighting the many resources available to them at the H.O.P.E Center."

Proceeds from the Sober Comedy Night will benefit NSO Cares, a non-profit founded to shape 21st century public safety in Norfolk County through community outreach, intervention, prevention, and education.

"The road to recovery can take some twisted paths, and being able to laugh along the way is good for the soul," said Steve Sweeney. "Come join us, and have some sober fun, knowing you can make it to work the next day with some great stories to tell."

"The H.O.P.E. Center develops specific plans for our clients to apply their skills, strengthen their self-awareness, and motivation, while setting and achieving goals," said Mathew Sisk, Executive Director of Reentry Services/H.O.P.E. Center.

"The Sober Comedy Night features local comedians who know how helpful support like this can be and we are thankful to have them help us help others," said Sisk.
