Amanda Bynes has embarked on a weight loss journey and she's eager to share her results.
Bynes, 38, took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, November 5, to share a screenshot of her day's total step count and precisely how much weight she has shed.
"Down 6lbs! 154lbs now 😱," Bynes captioned the screenshot, which also revealed that she had burned "481/320 CAL" that day and walked a distance of 6.60 miles. Bynes' step count clocked in at 14,895, while her flight count totalled 12.
As a result of the former child star's fitness efforts, her workout goals for the day were officially met, confirmed by the large red circle displayed at the top of the screenshot.
Bynes followed the Instagram Story up with a video of herself walking down the street wearing dark sunglasses and a black beanie, seemingly offering a glimpse of her day's fitness achievements.
The health update comes after Bynes revealed in March that her mental health struggles impacted her weight. Bynes shared via Instagram Stories on March 28 that she had "gained over 20 lbs" over the span of several months, "from being depressed." She wrote, "I'm doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don't feel like working out or eating clean."
Bynes also revealed via the post that she weighed "162 lbs" at the time and wanted "to get back to 110 lbs."
Less than four months prior, the actress revealed she had undergone blepharoplasty surgery to remove excess skin from her upper eyelids. (According to Mayo Clinic, the surgery "can reduce or get rid of ... vision problems," and can also "make eyes look younger and more alert.")
"So I saw a couple of stories online that say I have a new look," Bynes began in a TikTok video posted on December 11, 2023. "And I was never open about this before, but I actually had blepharoplasty surgery on the skin folds and the corners of my eye so I don't have those skin folds anymore."
She added at the time that she was pleased with the results. "It was one of the best things I could've ever done for my self-confidence, and it made me feel a lot better in my skin," she told her TikTok followers. "I just wanted to post about that just to clear up that rumor as to why I have a new look. I feel a lot better now about myself and I'm so glad I had the blepharoplasty surgery. It was one of the greatest things I could've ever done."
Bynes' return to the spotlight via social media comes after years of highly publicized mental health issues. In August 2013, Bynes was placed under a conservatorship one month after she was hospitalized and put on a psychiatric hold for setting a fire in a stranger's driveway. One year later, her mother, Lynn Bynes, was named the conservator of her health care and personal matters.
