Nick Saban and the ESPN "College GameDay" crew were in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in Week 11, previewing an SEC showdown between the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 15 LSU Tigers.
The panel, which includes Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and Saban shared their predictions for some of the biggest matchups in Week 11.
While all eyes were on the game in Baton Rouge, Saban was focused on another SEC battle between No. 24 Vanderbilt and South Carolina.
Despite the Commodores heading into the game as a 6.5-point underdog, per ESPN BET, Saban believes they will pull off the upset in Week 11.
He's crediting his pick to the Commodores' home-field advantage and the Gamecocks inconsistency.
"South Carolina has played a little up and down this year," Saban said. "This Vanderbilt team just keeps surprising everybody and they're great at home so I'm going Vanderbilt."
The Commodores are heading into the game with a 6-3 record while the Gamecocks sit at 5-3. Vanderbilt has won four of its last five games, including a victory over No. 1 Alabama.
They're headed by quarterback Diego Pavia, who's posted 15 touchdowns and 1,677 yards with a 62.0 completion percentage. He's also added four touchdowns and 563 yards on the ground.
Vanderbilt also has a true No. 1 pass catcher that serves as a safety blanket for Pavia, tight end Eli Stowers. The 6-foot-4 target has recorded four touchdowns and 516 yards.
The Commodores have shown consistency on the offensive end all season and they hold a 4-1 record at home, suffering their only loss to the top ranked Texas Longhorns.
