On election eve not a creature will scurry,
the flyers discarded; the mailboxes raided.
So, liberals wring their hands with worry,
and Republicans hope they'll be rewarded.
Harris and Walz doubt they'll be gone.
Trump and Vance stand their ground,
their fellow contenders marching along
shouting "fight, fight, fight" all-around.
The nation retires content in their choices.
Yet some dreams are disturbing their rest.
Day one arrives to vote with their voices,
wanting their dreams to be for the best.
