A 20-year-old man was hospitalized following a crash between a sedan and a boom truck in Brockton on Thursday, prompting a street closure, the Brockton Police Department said.
At around 9 a.m., Brockton police learned of a two-vehicle crash in front of 955 Pearl Street, the department said in a statement on Facebook.
Police found that a head-on collision between a sedan driving south on Pearl Street and a boom truck driving northbound, the department said.
The 20-year-old man driving the car was taken out of his car by Brockton firefighters and taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.
"On the way to the hospital on Route 24, [a] Brewster Ambulance met up with EMS from Canton's Fire Department, who supplied the victim with blood before heading to Boston Medical Center," police added.
Police closed Pearl Street from Belmont to West Chestnus streets, the department said. Those on the road are asked to avoid the area.
