LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The City of Lexington is hiring for a wide variety of positions, and they met with prospective candidates for them Tuesday at the Lexington Public Library Marksbury Family branch.
The city says they have 33 different divisions that work all across the county. Booths with representatives were there to answer questions and hand out information.
The city says they have a lot of options that can fulfill many interests. Positions are open in the city's public safety departments, fleet services, parks and recreation, facilities, community corrections, E911 and more.
Specifically, the city says CDL drivers are in high demand, as well as any skilled technicians in trades like HVAC, water treatment operations and electrical work.
Dan James with the city says working for the city means a good quality of life and great benefits.
"We have more flexibility than we've ever had as far as working environment. In office, out of office, working in the park system, working outside, working inside all kinds of different things," said James. "Every one of our positions touches every resident at some point or another."
If you missed the career fair, James says they post current job openings almost daily on their website.
