The race that stops the nation is back once again, as the country looks on at the action from Flemington Racecourse.

The Melbourne Cup will see 24 jockeys and horses vie for the most famous prize in Australian horse racing.

With the race taking place in Victoria, what time does it begin in Queensland?

With the race beginning at 3:00 p.m. AEDT in Melbourne on Tuesday November 5, this means it will start at 2:00 p.m. AEST in Queensland.

Whilst other eastern states observe daylight savings time, Queensland does not.

The Melbourne Cup will be broadcast live and free on the Nine Network on their main Channel Nine, as well as on their streaming platform 9Now.

It can also be watched on the Racing.com TV channel, which is available both on normal television, as well as on Kayo Sport.
