One person died and three others were hospitalized following a fire at a residential complex in Bridgeport on Monday.
The Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center received calls reporting a structure fire at a residential building at 368 Connecticut Ave. around 4:50 p.m. on Monday, according to Tiadora Josef, director of public information for the City of Bridgeport.
The blaze quickly became a two-alarm fire, Josef said.
According to Josef, three people were transferred to a local hospital, and one person was pronounced dead.
Four adults and four children were being relocated by the Red Cross, Josef said.
The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office, in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, is investigating the incident, according to Josef.
"The Bridgeport Fire Department sends its condolences to the family during this difficult time," said Josef.
