New Italian company PiperFilm is launching sales at AFM on English-language psychological horror film "Beasts of Prey" starring Carolyn Bracken. The Irish actor recently broke out playing the blind protagonist of Damian McCarthy's chiller "Oddity."
In the previously announced film, Bracken plays a rich art collector whose life is shattered by a tragic event. "Destroyed by this unbearable pain, an instinctive and primordial nature awakens in her that will lead her to destroy her privileged life and build a new idea of family," says the provided synopsis.

The film is also described as a "complex and thrilling story about the never-ending struggle between the rational and the animal side of human nature."
Cameras are rolling in Italy's northern regions of Lombardy and Piedmont on "Beasts of Prey," which also stars veteran character actress Caroline Goodall ("Schindler's List," "The Fabelmans"). The film is directed by Italian first-timer Andrea Corsini. "Beasts of Prey" is an expansion of the director's short by the same title that premiered from the 2019 Venice Film Festival's Critics' Week.
The international sales unit at PiperFilm, which launched in Cannes last May, is headed by Catia Rossi, the former head of international sales at Vision Distribution, True Colours and RAI Com.
In a statement, Rossi praised "Beasts of Prey" as "a high-profile horror movie" with an "amazing performance" by Bracken. She also pointed out the quality of the film's production value.
"Beasts of Prey" is being lead-produced and serviced by Francesco Grisi and Giorgia Priolo for EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani, the effects company that recently won an Emmy in the special visual effects in a single episode category for Steven Zaillian's series "Ripley."
Italy's Adler Entertainment is planning to release the film, which is titled "Ferine" in Italy, in 2025.
