The Hurricanes continued their winning ways into November, beating Duke on Saturday.
With Miami's win and previous No. 3 Penn State's loss to then-No. 4 Ohio State, the Hurricanes moved up one spot to No. 4 in the AP poll. UM also moved up to No. 4 in the USA Today coaches poll and the FWAA-NFF Super 16.
Those polls come out two days before the first College Football Playoff rankings, which will be released on Tuesday night.
Miami does not have a ranked team on its regular-season schedule this season. There are five ranked teams in the ACC: Miami, No. 13 SMU, No. 19 Clemson, No. 23 Pittsburgh and No. 25 Louisville.
