VIRGINIA -- Range Mental Health Center (RMHC) will participate in the annual Give to the Max Day on Thursday, November 21. Give to the Max Day, a statewide grassroots giving event organized by GiveMN, has raised more than $330 million for more than 10,000 organizations since its inaugural year in 2009.
Range Mental Health Center is a major mental health provider in northeast Minnesota, providing treatment to over 2,500 individuals a year and covering over 6,800 square miles, providing services to all age groups, races, social classes and disabilities. The center's mission is dedicated to providing comprehensive services to our citizens by helping them reach and maintain dignified lives.
RMHC provides adult and child outpatient therapy, psychiatric services, community based services; Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS), Target Case Management (TCM), peer support, housing support, and school-based services.
Additionally, they provide substance use disorder services, both inpatient and outpatient, detoxification services and provide crisis management with the Compassionate Community Response Team (CCRT), mobile crisis stabilization and residential crisis stabilization at the Wellstone Center for Recovery. RMHC has locations in Virginia, Hibbing, and Ely. The array of services has been recognized as a model both statewide and nationally.
RMHC earned Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) status in May 2023. Led by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), CCBHCs were created to transform mental health and substance use treatment across the country and provide sustainable funding for robust community outpatient mental health treatment.
As a CCBHC, they ensure access to a comprehensive range of services, providing care coordination when needed and incorporating evidence-based practices and other supports based on a community needs assessment.
Equally important, CCBHCs are required to serve anyone who requests care for mental health or substance use disorders -- regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence, or age, including developmentally appropriate care for children and youth -- which RMHC has long practiced.
Donations to RMHC help provide substance use disorder treatment and mental health services to residents on the Iron Range.
"At the heart of our work is the belief that when we come together, we can transform lives," said Annmarie Florest, CEO of RMHC. "Every contribution, big or small, fuels hope and resilience within our community. I encourage everyone to join us in this campaign -- your support not only makes a difference today but lays a foundation for a brighter, stronger tomorrow."
"In 2023, tens of thousands of Minnesotans and supporters from around the world came together to raise a phenomenal $34.2 million for 6,615 nonprofits and schools across our state," said Jake Blumberg, executive director of GiveMN, the nonprofit behind Give to the Max.
"Donor support continues to be a powerful force for good. Every dollar donated fuels the essential work of local nonprofits to improve lives and strengthen our neighborhoods."
